Jiggle

2022

Wood, metal, mixed textiles

Description: Jiggle sees a kinetic sculpture brought to life by the audience. Crossing the boundaries of viewer and interactor, opening the space of the white cube, and allowing a playful nature to be explored. This curious yet well considered sculpture opens space for the audience to question, explore and get physical with the work, allowing a humorous yet potentially uncomfortable feeling to be realized. There is a childlike approach of discovery, allowing viewers to cross that boundary and become a part of the work by ‘spinning’ the extruding sculpture thus becoming a conductor that others will observe.
